Perth's Red Hill Auditorium is set to become Australia's first carbon negative venue.
The venue's management has announced that from this summer, they will be contributing to reestablishing ecosystems degraded by farming land in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor.
"It will ensure more carbon is retained through the reestablishment of these ecosystems than what’s generated as a footprint of the show," read a statement from the venue.
"The vision is to assist in the re-creation of a healthy, functioning landscape, restored after decades of habitat loss and degradation, and will become the new bushland that helps connect the outback."
Since opening 10 years ago, the venue has played host to acts including Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Kris Kristofferson, Fatboy Slim, London Grammar, Post Malone, Peking Duk and more.
