Drake cut his set short at Tyler, The Creator's music festival yesterday after fans turned on the Canadian rapper as they were expecting to see someone else.

As Pitchfork reports, Drake took to the stage as the mystery headliner at the Camp Flog Gnaw event at LA's Dodger Stadium, however fans were apparently expecting US singer Frank Ocean to be revealed as the surprise act.

Responding to the negative reception, Drake told the crowd, "I'm here for you tonight. If you want to keep going, I will keep going... "

When the crowd again responded with boo's, he replied, "It's been love, I love y’all. I go by the name of Drake. Thank you for having me" and exited the stage.

Tyler, The Creator responded to the incident on Twitter shortly after.

"I thought bringing one of the biggest artist on the fucking planet to a music festival was fire," the California hip hop artist tweeted.

"But flipside, a lil tone deaf knowing the specific crowd it drew. Some created a narrative in their head and acted out like assholes when it didn't come true and I don't fuck with that."

Drake at least saw the funny side and made light of the situation earlier today.

Taking to Instagram, the Toronto-born songwriter said, "Plot twist... just signed a 10 year residency at Camp Flog Gnaw sorry kids see you EVERY SINGLE YEAR till you are 30".
