The Port Macquarie Beer & Cider Festival has been officially postponed due to bushfire conditions in the area.

The event, which was due to take place this Saturday 16 November with acts including William Crighton, Mitch King, The Butlers, Barrell House and Minnie Marks on the line-up, has now been postponed to 22 February 2020.

“We were hoping the fires would be out by now and we’d all be shouting our legendary fire fighters a beer at the festival this weekend," said organiser Scott Mesiti

"But, with this week’s weather predictions and personally knowing so many affected it’s hard to promote an event when you know so many of your community are hurting.

"We want to push back the festival to February to give the town enough time to recover and focus on doing our bit to help in the meantime. We apologise to any of those who may be put out but hope you can understand under the circumstances."

Current tickets will remain valid for the 2020 event, while those who are unable to attend will can receive a full refund.
