Sony Music Entertainment Australia has announced the signing of burgeoning local artist Brad Cox on an exclusive worldwide recording deal.

The Jindabyne country songwriter joins Sony after winning the 2018 Toyota Star Maker title and already has two Golden Guitar nominations to his name.

To date, Cox has racked up over 3.5 million combined streams globally.

“We are very excited to welcome Brad Cox to the Sony Music family," Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment Australia and New Zealand and President of Asia, Denis Handlin AO, said.

"Brad is one of Australia’s brightest new country music stars and we have significant local and international ambitions for him as we work to break him to a global audience. Brad’s songwriting ability and musicianship is world class and we are proud and honoured to be part of his long journey ahead moving forward.”

On joining the Sony team, Cox said, “I've worked so hard on my career over many years from the ground up, and for me it's extremely humbling to know that Sony Music also has the same belief in my music that I do.

"I'm really excited to be working closely with Denis and the team to take this to the next level locally and internationally.”

Cox is currently working on his second studio album to be released via Sony in early 2020. Tracks from the record are expected to be released before the end of this year.
