The US program, hosted by RuPaul Charles, first aired in 2009 and is about to enter its 12th season. The show has also sparked spin-off seasons, including four all star editions, a newly launched UK season and a Christmas special in 2018.
The US show has so far included one Australian contestant, former Australian Idol contestant Courtney Act, who has since gone on to win Celebrity Big Brother UK as well as compete in both Eurovision: Australia Decides and Dancing With The Stars.
There is so far no air date or host for the Australian show, but ITV Studios Australia have confirmed it will launch in 2020.
