Iconic Brisbane venue Riverstage has seen some killer gigs over the years, and local punters have helped curate a list of its best ahead of its 30th anniversary.

Brisbane residents took a vote, and out of more than 400 performances to have taken place at the venue over the past three decades, local rockers Powderfinger topped the list with their 2010 Sunsets Farewell Tour.

The top five also included gigs from Mumford & Sons, John Butler Trio, Prodigy and Beastie Boys, while 12 local acts featured on the list overall.

“Powderfinger themselves made it no secret they loved performing at the Riverstage, with a total of eight sell-out shows at the venue during their career,” Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said.

“The rock group were also voted the number one band that residents would like to see in a dream future line-up.

“In addition to revealing the acts who have rocked our city over the years, the survey also highlighted that performers and patrons alike love the uniqueness of the outdoor nature of the venue, its riverside location, atmosphere and sense of inclusivity and connectedness making it truly one of Brisbane’s most iconic live music venues.”

Riverstage will host a wealth of local talent in the coming weeks as part of Brisbane Festival’s 2019 program, with Hot Dub Time Machine, Cub Sport, The Amity Affliction, City & Colour and more set to grace its stage.
