Alf Nguyen, also known as DJ A.L.F. and FirstGrandson, has passed away at the weekend.
The Sydney DJ, producer and radio host collapsed while DJing in the early hours of Saturday morning and was unable to be resuscitated.
A GoFundMe page has been launched to support Nguyen's family, which has so far raised $17,705 of its $200,000 goal.
"This sudden and devastating loss has hit all those who knew Alf, but none more so than his family, especially his loving wife Rita McCulloch," reads the fundraising page.
"We would like to help Rita by alleviating some of the enormous financial burden she is now facing. This includes funeral costs, living expenses, household bills, and care for 5-year-old Chauncey, who was recently diagnosed with autism."
"We are reaching out to everyone who was touched by Alf to contribute whatever they can toward financial aid for Rita and Chauncey during this most heartbreakingly difficult time."
Urthboy is among those paying tribute to Nguyen, calling him an "absolute gem", while collaborator Ozi Batla has spoken about the influence Nguyen had on him and their work together.
"For Alf, it was about the tunes, the party, making the crowd move. It didn't matter what the cause, if we couldn't turn the party out, then what was the point? That was so crucial for my stage presence and overall approach to performing live," he shared.
"The honest truth is, if I'd never met Alf, there would have been no Ozi Batla.
"He would have blushed and laughed his massive infectious laugh if I ever told him that. It seems weird to think someone so unassuming and humble could have such a profound impact on your life. But I know I'm not the only one. He was the glue guy, the one who brings people from all walks of life together with his optimism, can-do attitude and passion for music."
