U2 will return to Australia this November for the first time in almost 10 years, performing their seminal fifth record The Joshua Tree in full alongside hits, fan favourites and more.

The tour will mark the band’s first Australian shows since 2010’s 360° Tour, and their return will see them supported by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

The tour kicks off in Brisbane, before moving on to Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Perth.

The Irish rockers initially played a run of Joshua Tree dates across North America, Europe and Latin America back in 2017 to commemorate the record’s 30th anniversary.

“It’s only taken me 30 years to learn how to sing these songs and it’s great to be able to say that I’ve finally caught up with the band,” Bono said.

“Our audience has given the Joshua Tree a whole new life on this tour. Doing these shows has been very special for us, a lot of emotion. From the despair of how relevant some of the dark songs still are, to the joy, pure fun of the staging… it’s quite a ride.”

The Edge added: “We really, REALLY wanted to bring The Joshua Tree to New Zealand, Australia and Asia.

“We promised we would and finally, now we can say that we will see you in November. It’s going to feel like a homecoming and we are very excited.”

Gallagher said they were “beside" themselves, noting “The Joshua Tree 2017 tour was some of the most fun we ever had. It will be both an honour and a pleasure to share the stage with our friends and comrades once again. It’s gonna be a ripper!”

Promoters Live Nation have also confirmed that, in an Australian first, floor tickets will be paperless and delivered to mobile devices 72 hours prior to each show.

U2 fan pre-sale kicks off on June 4 before general public sales go live on June 11.
