Aussie comics Celia Pacquola and Luke McGregor must be cheering this week, with news that their acclaimed comedy show Rosehaven has been picked up by US and Canadian TV.
The show's season one will be premiered by SundanceTV in the US and streamed via SundanceNow in the US and Canada, with the TV channel's general manager Jan Diedrichsen stating, "The first season is quirky, charming, relatable, sweet, and hilarious – all the ingredients of great comedy."
Also cause for celebration for the duo is word that ABC has renewed the show for season two, with SundanceTV signing on as co-producer for the season.
ABC's Head Of Comedy, Rick Kalowski, said, "Rosehaven is a show very close to my heart - among my favourite comedies we've ever done at ABC. To bring it back for more and to an even bigger audience thanks to our US partners at SundanceTV is a wonderful honour."
Co-creator and co-star Pacquola expressed her excitement with the remarkable news, stating, "When making our show in a small town in Tasmania, it's hard to imagine, next stop Hollywood! But here we are. We are so excited about Rosehaven making it all the way to the US."
Season two will return to shoot in Tasmania and will premiere on ABC in the final quarter of 2017.
