Sony has filed a new lawsuit against US restaurant chain, Applebee's, for using AC/DC's music in their advertisements without paying for it.
According to TMZ, the rock legends' Rock & Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, as well as C+C Music Factory's Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now), have allegedly been used in the company's recent campaigns without the proper authorisation.
The lawsuit alleges that Sony quoted Applebee's $US250,000 for AC/DC and $US50,000 for for C+C Music Factory after being contacted by a third party.
Sony allege that despite sending the company license agreements, no money was received and that they were later told by Applebee's that the money was sent to the third party.
Sony are reportedly seeking $US300,000 for the lawsuit, including damages.
An Applebee's spokesperson said in a statement to TMZ, "Applebee's intends to vigorously defend this lawsuit, which we believe does not have merit. We cannot comment further on pending litigation".
The Music has contacted Sony's Australian offices for comment.
