Atlanta rapper Young Thug has pulled out of this month's Laneway Festival, organisers have announced.

Citing "visa complications" as the reason, organisers are offering refunds to those who were planning on seeing the eccentric 25-year-old at the festival.

However, Laneway organisers have been quick to announce Young Thug's replacement on the festival bill — hometown heroes Dune Rats, who will be jumping on board the festival nationally.

The trio state of their addition to the bill, "We were STOKED when we got the call up to join the 2017 Laneway Festival line-up. Years ago these legends were the first touring festival to take a punt on us and we had the time of our lives. We can’t wait to do it all again! Cya in just over 1 week!!”

Young Thug has not yet commented on the cancellation.
