Prince could return to the stage this year as a hologram if the quality is good enough, the music icon's sister said this week.

As iNews reports, Tyka Nelson claims that the idea could come to fruition this October at London's O2 Arena which will host the first-ever official exhibition of Prince's memorabilia.

Instruments, outfits and hand-written lyrics are just some of the things that will be displayed at the arena after being taken directly from the legend's Paisley Park home, following his death last April.

Holograms have previously been used for the likes of Michael Jackson and Tupac, while a hologram of late heavy metal singer Ronnie James Rio will embark on a world tour later this year.

"A hologram could be done as long as it is of excellent quality," Nelson said of a Prince hologram.

"It would have to allow the fans to experience Prince in the way he allowed us to experience his music."

Nelson also confirmed previously unheard music from Prince which was stored away in his Minnesota home will be on display at the exhibition.

"I won’t leave this planet until all the music is out of the vaults and shared with Prince's fans," she said.

"I haven’t heard it all and I don’t know how much is finished but it is the Paisley Park mission to share it with his fans around the world."
